4 - Port Barton,
Taytay
After
two lazy days in paradise it's time to get moving again. Secret Paradise
deafening bangka takes us to Port Barton, another beach
and another sunset. It looks like a nice place but we
don't stop long enough to take a proper
look around. The morning after we take an "offroad" jeepney to Roxas on a really muddy
road.
From here, by minivan we reach Taytay. Taytay
has a spanish fortress, a little harbour complete with fishing village on
stilts, a pier, some ambitious and derelict
attempt at a shopping mall, and no tourists. You
could do nice boat trips to the islands and land trips to the surroundings, but
we only stay half a day so we just
wander around town. The
heat is unbearable... We spend hours (in the shade) at a simple seaside
restaurant and make the most of
our
room's panoramic porch at the "Casa
Rosa".
